  • Nelson Mandela Says:

"Our biggest fear is not that we're inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. It is not just in some of us it's in everyone. As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. And as we are liberated from our fears, our presence automatically liberates others"

Interesting viewpoint. Sometimes I agree with it; sometimes I don't. I must continue to ponder.

Rugbugg: You know what they say about some aspects of our lives that do not have gray areas - that it's either you sink or swim, or in this case, you shine or fade into the background. I guess it's about time you start finding that inner light and as cheesy as it may sound, discover the best in you.

This point occured to me some time ago. I'm not sure that I agree that success is our biggest fear, but I have very frequently noticed that worriers will reject a workable solution to a problem if it given to them, in order that they may continue their grumbling.

Thanks for dropping by.  A character flaw that I've been working on for the longest time is this irrational (well not, really, if you think of the need for self preservation, but that's another story) fear of knowing my limitations, hence, I've always ended up failing, but failing with grace, even if it's just superficial grace.

It's actually taking its toll on me lately and I don't know.  I am hating the fact that I am exactly the worrier that you are talking about.  Just worrying and (hopelessly) waiting for things to turn around.

If you'll find the time, do check out my other blog.  The url is http://quirinojohn.blogspot.com
